Hi Jeff,

Sorry but I never found a solution to this to this problem so I gave up
on using buildroot.  I ended up building a glibc-based  toolchain  which
I'm using with the uClibc included in the uclinux distribution.  I wrote
a small script to build the toolchain that I can forward if you're
interested.
