So 4.2 isn't out yet, and they're already saying "oh no, we can't fix this 
obvious bug in the current stable _or_ the next -devel release, we already 
fixed it in a version that won't have a stable release for a couple years 
yet."

Should I be reassured?

The bug I hit ( http://landley.net/notes-2006.html#22-12-2006 ) is 
still "wontfix" for 4.1.x, which they seem to have written off as either 
unsupportable or uninteresting...
